How it works
This is a short piece of video looped seamlessly, not an animation, so it costs your device almost nothing to run. The sound is part of the video and stays off until you ask for it, because browsers do not allow noise without permission.
Why this exists
Real fireplaces require wood, a chimney, and a level of commitment most people do not have.
